Questions about working with AlbaVista?
Albania is one of Europe’s fastest-rising destinations — and still wonderfully authentic. More than ten years ago, our partner company Liria Travel was among the very first to bring European travellers to Albania. Today, thousands have discovered just how rewarding this country is.
As a fully local, on-the-ground tour operator (DMC), AlbaVista now puts that same expertise at the service of travel agencies and tour operators worldwide. We were born and raised here, we studied here, and we have a network of trusted contacts across the country — which means your clients experience the real Albania, not a tourist version of it.
Below you’ll find answers to the questions agencies ask us most: both about partnering with AlbaVista and about Albania as a destination. You’ll likely find what you’re looking for here.
Can’t find your answer, or have a specific request? Don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re always happy to help.

Working with AlbaVista
AlbaVista is an inbound tour operator (DMC) based in Tirana, and the partner company of Liria Travel in Belgium. We design and operate journeys throughout Albania on behalf of travel agencies and tour operators worldwide.
As your Destination Management Company, we handle everything on the ground in Albania: itinerary design, guides, transport, hotels, restaurants, activities and local support. You keep the relationship with your client; we make sure their trip runs flawlessly.
No. We work exclusively with and for agencies and tour operators. Your client relationship always stays yours — we operate behind the scenes as your local partner.
Simply reach out through our contact page, or meet us at a travel fair. We’ll get to know your agency, discuss how we can work together, and prepare a first proposal. There’s no obligation to start.
Send us your brief: travel interests, dates, group size, preferred travel style and budget. The more detail you give us, the sharper our proposal. We’ll come back with a clear, tailored programme for your client.
We aim to respond to every request within [X working days – to confirm]. For complex or large group programmes, we’ll always confirm a realistic timeline up front.
Cultural tours, hiking and nature trips, beach and Riviera holidays, MICE and corporate events, and fully tailor-made programmes — for individual travellers (FIT), groups and businesses.
Absolutely — tailor-made is what we do best. Send us your wishes and we’ll build a programme from scratch, or adapt an existing itinerary to your client’s needs.
As much or as little as you need: itinerary design, professional guiding, transport, accommodation, restaurants, excursions, entrance fees and local support during travel. You choose the level of service.

About Albania
Yes. Albania is a safe country to travel in, comparable to other European destinations. As anywhere, travellers should take normal care of their belongings in busy places, but there’s no reason for concern. Albanians are exceptionally helpful and hospitable.
We recommend checking your government’s current travel advice before departure.
Albania is a year-round destination. Late spring (May–June) and autumn (September–October) are ideal for culture and hiking, while July and August are peak season for the coast. We’ll advise the best timing for each travel style.
Entry requirements depend on the traveller’s nationality. Many visitors need only a valid passport (or, for some nationalities, an ID card) valid for the duration of the stay. Always check the requirements for your client’s nationality before booking.
The Albanian currency is the Lek (ALL). ATMs are widely available across the country and cards are accepted in most hotels and restaurants. Exchange rates can fluctuate, so we recommend checking current rates close to travel.
Albanian is the official language. English is widely spoken among the younger generation, and Italian is commonly understood. In a few southern towns, Greek is also spoken. Our guides bridge any language gap for your clients.
Albanian food is classically Mediterranean: fresh vegetables, olive oil, grilled meats and fish, with Turkish and Italian influences alongside distinctive local dishes. Tables are generously laid, and vegetarians are very well catered for.
Yes. Free WiFi is available in almost all hotels, restaurants and bars, and mobile coverage is good throughout the country.
We arrange all ground transport with professional drivers and comfortable vehicles. Roads have improved greatly in recent years; journeys through the mountains are scenic and unhurried — part of the experience rather than just a transfer.
The UNESCO cities of Berat and Gjirokastër, the capital Tirana, the Albanian Alps (Theth and Valbona), the Riviera and Ksamil, ancient Butrint, and the wild Vjosa river — among many others. We match the highlights to each client’s interests.
Accessibility facilities in Albania are still limited, and many programmes involve a fair amount of walking and activity. We’ll always advise honestly on suitability and adapt where possible.
No special vaccinations are required for most travellers, and Albania poses no unusual health risks. We recommend bottled water for drinking. Always refer clients to up-to-date official medical travel advice. [Confirm wording with your office.]
Mediterranean: hot, dry summers along the coast and cooler temperatures in the mountains. Spring and autumn are mild and pleasant, making them excellent for active and cultural travel.
